Paying off 1st credit card Friday!

August 19th, 2014 at 02:50 pm

I have $89 left on it and that will be gone with Fridays paycheck and then on to that Discover card with the highest interest rate! I can't believe I have paid off over $8000 since the beginning of January. According to my debt avalanche spreadsheet, I will have the Discover card paid off next September. A year sounds too long to wait, so I will do everything I can to get it paid off sooner Smile I have been selling a lot on Ebay, and I may be able to cash in some PTO to put towards the card as well. Feels great to make progress!

Awesome. I love coming across blog posts where people are celebrating their debt payoffs. As long as you stay focused you shouldn't have a problem paying off the Discover card.

Good on you! It's such a wonderful milestone to mark Paid-In-Full to a CC. It's so smart to snowball funds to the next goal and terrific see you're motivated to stay the course. WoooHooo atta girl

Congratulations!! Will you be putting the minimum payment from this last debtmand all extra funds to pay off the Discover? I highly suggest it!

Thanks everyone! This card that I am paying off is the card that I charge my gas and childcare to ($1500 a month), so it will be paid off in full every month during the grace period, and all extra funds (mostly from my part time job) will now go towards the Discover. It's not quite as simple as just rolling over a minimum payment, but that's more or less what I'm doing Smile I'll be extra motivated to get rid of this Discover card with it's 13.49% interest rate!

You are definitely motivated, so you should have it paid off soon!
