Making progress on debt!

July 18th, 2014 at 07:48 pm

Paid off $1800 of credit card debt this past month (from June to July)! Big improvement from my debt increasing from May to June. We'll get there! Also have a $5300 check we're waiting on from the insurance from when our camper got damaged. That will be awesome and my husband fixed the damage himself for under $100!

Nice job!! That camper money will be REALLY nice, which card(s) will you put that money towards?

What's really nice is when more of your monthly payment goes toward principal, and less toward interest. Keep up the great work!

We are going to earmark about $1000 of the money for home maintenance - cleaning gutters, power-washing, and a bunch of other things that need to be done. I don't think it will cost anywhere near that though. Then I'll put about $1500 of it towards my Discover card (the Chase card will be just about paid off by the time the cash is ready), and my husband will put the rest towards one of his credit cards. His interest rates are slightly lower than mine, but he needs the psychological boost of feeling like we're making progress on his debt too Smile

It is such an awesome feeling to make progress!

That's awesome. One of my favorite things to do is to update the information in my sidebar. I got to do it again yesterday!
